Sisi urges improving ways to identify sport talents

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has urged improving the mechanisms to identify talented people in terms of sports and working to improve these talents in a meeting with the minister of youth, the Presidency statedon Saturday.

Attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli,the meeting discussed the latest developments in the implementation of the strategic vision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports under Ashraf Sobhi, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said.

During the meeting, Sisi affirmed his full confidence in the capabilities and promising potentials of Egyptian youth, and highlighted the need to foster these talents nation wide to contribute to building the nation.

This came shortly after Sisi had honored female and male players and athletic trainers who won African and global championships, state’s news agency MENA reported.

The honored are Egypt’s U23 national football team, the national Karate team, the Squash team, as well as the Paralympic team, according to Radi.

Sisi’s remarks also come only few days ahead of the World Youth Forum held annually under his auspices in South Sinai’s Sharm El-Sheikh. The forum will kick off on December 14. They also come a week after Sisi had witnessed the appointment of new governors and deputy governors, where youth were highly represented.
