Egypt\u2019s Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs Nabila Makram said on Saturday that she is following up on the latest developments in the investigations into the killing of Egyptian student Mariam Mostafa after a group of young women attacked her in the United Kingdom. In a statement, she said that she dispatched the Assistant Minister for Communities Affairs to London to follow up on the matter.<\/p>\n
She added that she is currently considering the procedure of prosecuting the hospital, which Mostafa was admitted, to in case it was proven to be medically negligent, in addition to demanding the murderers to be prosecuted for the killing of Mostafa for their crime. \u201cWe won\u2019t abandon the case,\u201d Makram said.<\/p>\n
Mariam Mostafa, an engineering student and resident of the city of Nottingham, was severely beaten and injured by a group of young women last month and died from her injuries in March.<\/p>\n
The mother of Mariam said in a video statement earlier this month that her daughter was subjected to an unprovoked brutal assault from ten British girls of African descent. She added that reasons behind the assault are not clear, although she suspects racism may be the motivation, saying that the assault happened in a crowded street in London.<\/p>\n
In statements to the Associated Press on Friday, her father, 50, said: \u201cI want justice for my daughter, not just my daughter but also so this doesn\u2019t happen to another girl or another boy.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMy daughter was like an angel. She would do anything for anyone \u2013 a very kind girl. She meant the world to me. She tried to help anyone \u2013 if they needed money or anything \u2013 she would always help. All of my family \u2013 my son, my daughter \u2013 they have all been crying after what happened. It\u2019s not fair.\u201d<\/p>\n
