{"id":72959,"date":"2018-02-20T22:58:35","date_gmt":"2018-02-20T20:58:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/almowatna.news\/?p=72959"},"modified":"2018-02-20T22:58:35","modified_gmt":"2018-02-20T20:58:35","slug":"government-owes-le266-bn-national-investment-bank-planning-ministry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/almowatna.news\/?p=72959","title":{"rendered":"Government owes LE266 bn to National Investment Bank: Planning Ministry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sources from the Ministry of Planning, Follow-up and Administrative Reform revealed on Monday that government debts owed to the National Investment Bank (NIB) amounted to LE266.6 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The electricity and energy sector owes LE40.9 to the NIB, with the Electricity Distribution Company scheduled to pay LE6 billion in debts through monthly instalments to the NIB, while the Egypt Electricity Holding Company is scheduled to repay LE2.3 billion in debts through yearly instalments.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry added that General Authority for Reconstruction and Agricultural Development Projects owes LE41.5 billion to the NIB. Although, officials from the General Authority agreed with NIB officials to exchange debts with land owned by the Al-Reef Al-Masry (Egyptian Countryside) company after evaluating their prices.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the sum of the New Urban Communities Authority\u2019s debts amounted to LE20.8 billion. The Urban Communities Authority and the NIB agreed on a debt settlement of LE16.3 billion, with the finance ministry set to pay the remainder of the debt.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Planning Hala al-Saeed spoke to the House of Representatives\u2019 media committee, saying that the Egyptian Radio and Television Union\u2019s (ERTU) debts amounted to LE32 billion. She added that the government is unable to omit the debts as they are dedicated to junior depositors and pensioners.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe seek to restructure ERTU within three years without laying-off employees.
