The US authorities hard from eyewitnesses, watched camera monitor tapes and seized Kamel\u2019s stolen car and cell phone to gain intel on correspondence between him and the murderers, Farouk told Al-Masry Al-Youm, noting that the nation was horrified at the crime.<\/p>\n
\u201cEgypt stands by the Kamel family,\u201d Farouk told the victim\u2019s daughter, Ilaria, over the phone, stating that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would transfer her father\u2019s corpse to be buried in Egypt if she wishes.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, Nabila Makram, contacted the Egyptian consulate in New York City to be briefed on the details of the crime.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Tarek Soliman, president of the Egyptian Cultural Club in New York, said \u201cI will travel to Ohio State and give my personal condolences to Kamel\u2019s family.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kamel was shot dead on August 3 when he met up with a potential buyer who expressed interest in his car, that Kamel had put up for sale online. \u201cFour persons were roaming the location of the meeting before Kamel arrived,\u201d eyewitnesses said, \u201cthey stole Kamel\u2019s wallet and walked away after shooting at him.\u201d<\/p>\n
