{"id":259412,"date":"2022-05-23T23:55:49","date_gmt":"2022-05-23T21:55:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/almowatna.news\/?p=259412"},"modified":"2022-05-23T23:55:49","modified_gmt":"2022-05-23T21:55:49","slug":"renowned-egyptian-businessman-mohamed-al-amin-sentenced-3-years-prison-human-trafficking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/almowatna.news\/?p=259412","title":{"rendered":"Renowned Egyptian businessman Mohamed Al-Amin sentenced to 3 years in prison for human trafficking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CAIRO \u2013 23 May 2022: Cairo Criminal Court sentenced on Monday Mohamed Al-Amin, a renowned Egyptian businessman, to three years in prison over human trafficking charges.<\/p>\n<p>The court\u2019s rigorous imprisonment ruling against Amin is not final and therefore can be appealed.<\/p>\n<p>Amin was referred to the court after he was charged by the prosecution of committing acts that are punishable by law against a number of girls at the orphanage he founded in Beni Suef.<\/p>\n<p>The referral came after hearing the testimonies of 13 eyewitnesses, the confessions of the victims, the examination of the defendant\u2019s mobile phone, the Forensic Authority\u2019s reports, the National Council of Childhood and Motherhood and the physiological and social research department at the Ministry of Social Solidarity.<\/p>\n<p>The statement issued by the prosecutor-general\u2019s office on the case said that the investigation concluded that the defendant hosted the victims in an orphanage he owned \u2013 Upper Egypt&#8217;s Safe Hands Home for Girls \u2013 for the purpose of sexual abuse.<\/p>\n<p>The statement added that he exploited their weakness, threatening to expel them from the orphanage if they reported him.<\/p>\n<p>The statement revealed that the eyewitnesses included the girls in the orphanage, officials at the social solidarity ministry and the admin of Missing Children Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p>Egypt Today<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CAIRO \u2013 23 May 2022: Cairo Criminal Court sentenced on Monday Mohamed Al-Amin, a renowned Egyptian businessman, to three years in prison over human trafficking charges.
