CAIRO \u2013 14 April 2022: Salma Shabana, a 23-yr old athlete, with Down syndrome, who has proven to be an icon of willpower to her peers with special needs.<\/p>\n
Salma, with her multiple talents, was awarded the title of \u201cThe most beautiful Miss 2022\u201d for people with special needs “Down Syndrome” in Port Said city. <\/p>\n
Salma has two sisters, “Esraa”, who holds a bachelor’s degree in tourism and hotels, “Alaa” has a degree in computer science.<\/p>\n
In 2008\/2009, Salma joined the Egyptian Federation for Mental Disabilities 2008\/2009 and participated in the 2009 Olympics and in many tournaments over 10 years.<\/p>\n
She showed great determination throughout her journey. She also participated in the Egyptian Special Olympics World Championship for people with special abilities that was held in Athens, Greece, and won the first place and the gold medal, and she was crowned the world champion in \u201cAthletics 2011\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cSalma won the first Oscar in the Performing Arts, the Show Cup and the Show Shield for several years,\u201d her mother said. Salma also dives and plays kayaking.<\/p>\n
For several years, she won the first place in the Republic Championship in swimming and won 2 golds, in addition to obtaining first place in basketball in the championship held in Abu Qir, Alexandria, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.<\/p>\n
Salma also participated in the Holy Qur\u2019an competition, and in handicrafts in \u201cMade in Egypt\u201d exhibitions through the products that she manufactures with her efforts and under the supervision of distinguished supervisors.<\/p>\n
