{"id":255862,"date":"2022-04-06T23:31:52","date_gmt":"2022-04-06T21:31:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/almowatna.news\/?p=255862"},"modified":"2022-04-06T23:31:52","modified_gmt":"2022-04-06T21:31:52","slug":"six-major-exemptions-apply-egyptian-ngos-register-per-new-civil-society-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/almowatna.news\/?p=255862","title":{"rendered":"Six major exemptions apply on Egyptian NGOs that register per new civil society law"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CAIRO \u2013 6 April 2022: The senate has agreed to extend the deadline for NGOs to register under the 2019 civil society law for another year to maximize the number of associations that enjoy the following privileges:<\/p>\n<p>1 \u2013 Exemption from registration fees.<\/p>\n<p>2 \u2013 Exemption from taxes and stamp duties.<\/p>\n<p>3 \u2013 Exemption from real estate taxes.<\/p>\n<p>4 \u2013 Donors do not pay taxes on their donations to NGOs as long as they do not exceed 10 percent of their income.  <\/p>\n<p>5 \u2013 Exemption from custom taxes and other fees on imported tools, machines, equipment, production supplies, and vehicles, as well as gifts and aid received from abroad. The imported items must be relevant to the NGO\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n<p>6 \u2013 Consumption of water, power, and natural gas is treated as domestic, rather than commercial
