BAGHDAD – 10 March 2022: The Iraqi capital Baghdad hosts the Arab Chess Age Groups\u2019 Championship for male and female youth, whose competitions is due to kick off later Thursday.<\/p>\n
Fourteen countries, including Egypt, will participate in the tournament that lasts until March 18.<\/p>\n
The head of the Iraqi chess federation Dhafer Abdel Amir told Iraq News Agency (INA) that the championship returns anew to Baghdad after a 21-year hiatus.<\/p>\n
Up to 90 players will take part in the championship, added Abdel Amir.<\/p>\n
The tournament will – for the first time – be broadcast online to all world countries, according to him.<\/p>\n
