{"id":251045,"date":"2022-02-02T00:43:05","date_gmt":"2022-02-01T22:43:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/almowatna.news\/?p=251045"},"modified":"2022-02-02T00:43:18","modified_gmt":"2022-02-01T22:43:18","slug":"egypts-health-ministry-announces-7th-version-covid-treatment-protocol-updates-new-medicines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/almowatna.news\/?p=251045","title":{"rendered":"Egypt\u2019s Health Ministry announces 7th version of COVID treatment protocol, updates on new medicines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CAIRO \u2013 2 February 2022: The Ministry of Health announced the issuance of the seventh version of the Corona treatment protocol and its distribution to isolation hospitals across the Republic to start treatment with new medicines, provided that the drug is dispensed free of charge for all cases.<\/p>\n<p>Hossam Hosni, head of the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona, said that the treatment protocol for Corona was updated, in which the drug \u201cmolnopiravir\u201d was introduced, and the use of \u201cmonoclonal\u201d and \u201cmirage\u201d drugs was expanded, stressing that the new drugs have powerful effect in the treatment and recovery of disease.<\/p>\n<p>Hossam Hosni, Head of the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona in the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the Egyptian treatment protocol keeps pace with global developments, noting that the Egyptian state is seeking to introduce new medicines that contribute to raising the recovery rates for the infected.<\/p>\n<p>Hossam Hosny added that the total imported vaccines for &#8220;AstraZeneca&#8221;, &#8220;Sinovac&#8221;, &#8220;Sinopharma&#8221;, &#8220;Johnson &#038; Johnson&#8221;, &#8220;Sputnik&#8221;, &#8220;Pfizer Piontech&#8221; and &#8220;Moderna&#8221; amounted to 136 million, 24 thousand and 630 doses.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the drug &#8220;Paxlovid&#8221;, produced by the &#8220;Pfizer&#8221; company, obtained emergency use approval from the US Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Authority, as Egypt signed a contract with the producing company to obtain sufficient doses to treat 20,000 people in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>With regard to the drug \u201cEvusheld\u201d, Dr. Hossam Hosni, indicated that it is produced by AstraZeneca, and Egypt has contracted to supply doses of it that are sufficient to treat 50,000 people, and it is expected to arrive within the next two days.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Health and Population continues to raise its preparations in all governorates of the Republic, follow up on the situation first-hand regarding the \u201cCorona\u201d virus, and take all necessary preventive measures against any viruses or infectious diseases.
