On Tuesday, the Egyptian Gazette published Public Prosecutions Decision No. 2 of 2022, reversing a decision published in the Egyptian Gazette No. 243 on October 28, 2020, that listed Mamdouh Hamza on terrorists\u2019 lists.<\/p>\n
In October 2020, the Emergency State Security Court sentenced engineer and activist Mamdouh Hamza to six months in prison in absentia, on charges of inciting violence and spreading false news, and also ruled that he be included on the lists of terrorism in accordance with Law No. 8 of 2015.<\/p>\n
The decision was issued after reviewing Law No. 8 of 2015, regulating lists of terrorist entities and terrorists and its amendments.<\/p>\n
Hamza challenged the court ruling sentencing him to prison and he was ordered to be tried before another court.<\/p>\n
The Supreme State Security Prosecution charged Hamza earlier of inciting terrorist crimes by using force and violence, disturbing public order, and obstructing authorities to perform their duties, through his personal account on Twitter.<\/p>\n
