Speaker of the Arab Parliament (AP) Adel bin Abdel Rahman Al Assoumi stated Tuesday that Egypt\u2019s \u201cSpeak Arabic\u201d initiative is one of the most important moves that are meant to protect the Arab identity against exotic phenomena that threaten the constant values of Arab communities.<\/p>\n
During a joint seminar with the Egyptian Ministry of Immigration at Dubai EXPO 2020 in the UAE, Assoumi greatly appreciated efforts exerted by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to entrench the Arab identity among the emerging generations.<\/p>\n
He explained that these efforts would help connect young expats with their homelands.<\/p>\n
In May, the Ministry of State for Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad launched \u201cSpeak Arabic\u201d online application to promotes Arabic language and Egyptian culture among the second and third generations of the Egyptians abroad.<\/p>\n
The application reinforces the \u201cSpeak Arabic\u201d initiative that was launched in October 2020, with the aim of linking Egyptians abroad to their motherland. The first phase of the application targets children aged between three to six years old; the second phase targets children aged between six to nine years old, and the third phase targets children aged between nine to 12 years old. <\/p>\n
The ‘Speak Arabic’ initiative is concerned with spreading Egyptian customs and traditions, and preserving the Egyptian identity among expats. It also targets non-Egyptian Arabic speakers who want to learn the language. <\/p>\n
