CAIRO – 11 December 2021: \u201cThe international community celebrates the Human Rights Day, which aims to preserve the dignity of every person and their right to a dignified life in which everyone enjoys their comprehensive rights,\u201d said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in a tweet on the Human Rights Day, on Friday.<\/p>\n
\u201cEgypt is keen to achieve this by upholding the social, living, economic and service rights of citizens, which is reflected in the National Human Rights Strategy that I was pleased to launch and follow up its implementation,\u201d the President added.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe strategy marks a practical path toward the great Egyptian people\u2019s enjoyment of their rights, in complementarity with Egypt\u2019s national development path which consolidates the principles of establishing the New Republic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is done in furtherance of the ambitions and aspirations of current and future generations and in support of the efforts of the State that is striving to change its reality and build a better future in a highly turbulent region that is fraught with challenges,\u201d President Sisi continued.<\/p>\n
Egypt\u2019s First Lady Entissar El Sisi celebrated, on Friday, Human Rights Day, saying \u201cToday, the world celebrates Human Rights Day which emphasizes the importance of upholding the rights of every human being to rebuild societies.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOur country has been able, during the recent period, to consolidate the most basic principles of human rights by providing a decent life for all Egyptians,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
In September 2021, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended a celebration to launch the 2021\/2026 National Strategy for Human Rights. <\/p>\n
The strategy includes the main axes of the comprehensive concept of human rights, which is to be integrated with Egypt’s national development path that consolidates the principles of the establishment of the New Republic and achieves the goals of Egypt’s vision 2030. The strategy is the first comprehensive and long-term self-strategy in the human rights field in Egypt.<\/p>\n
The strategy consists of four sections that are Civil and Political Rights; Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights; Rights of Women, Children, Disabled, Youth, and Elderly; and, Awareness and Capacity-Building in the Field of Human Rights. <\/p>\n
The first section deals with nine areas that are physical safety, personal freedom, fair trial and right of litigation, prisoner and detainee rights, freedom of expression, peaceful gathering, right of forming civil society organizations and associations, freedom of creed, and right to privacy.<\/p>\n
The second section deals with eight areas that are healthcare, education, work, social insurance, nutrition, access to safe water supply and wastewater, proper housing, and cultural rights.<\/p>\n
The third section deals with five areas that are promoting awareness pertinent to human rights, introducing human rights content in education curricula, training members of the Police Authority, training members of judicial entities, and improving the training programs delivered to workers at the administrative body.<\/p>\n
