After Damietta Liquefaction Plant had resumed operation early in 2021, Egypt has been expanding Damietta Port by introducing two terminals among other measures. <\/p>\n
Three new tugboats joined the port’s fleet Sunday with each having a pull capacity of 60 tons, length of 35 meters, width of 11.5 meters, and draft of 5.3 meters. Those were named Hedaya, Soliman, and Saleh.<\/p>\n
The terminal dubbed “Long Live Egypt 1” spans over 910,000 square meters with a capacity of four million containers per annum. It has quays stretching over 1,970 meters, and whose depth is 18 meters.<\/p>\n
As for Terminal Long Live Egypt 2, its quays extend over 3,320 meters having a depth of 17 meters. The surface area of the terminal’s yard is one million square meters with an annual capacity of 24 million tons. <\/p>\n
Further, a new quay is being constructed to have a length of 700 meters and a yard of 270,000 square meters.<\/p>\n
With regard to projects aimed at safeguarding the port, a new mole is being constructed on the western side with a length of 3,600 meters, while 1,565 meters are being added to the eastern mole.<\/p>\n
