CAIRO \u2013 18 November 2021: Prince Charles of Wales and Duchess Camilla of Cornwall visited Thursday Al Azhar Mosque in Old Cairo where they met Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb.<\/p>\n
The meeting tapped on harmony among teachings of different religions, and the role of religion in preserving the environment. They also discussed bolstering religious ties between Egypt and the UK.<\/p>\n
The talks were attended by a number of Al Azhar officials and students, as well as by Prince Charles\u2019s entourage.<\/p>\n
Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla took photos at the mosque’s central courtyard and in front of the mosque’s cistern that was set up by Prince Taj al Din al-Shobaki.<\/p>\n
This is the second visit by Prince Charles to the mosque as the first one took place in 2006.<\/p>\n
Prince of Wales Charles and Duchess of Cornwall Camilla arrived in Cairo Thursday after concluding their visit to Jordan as they are holding a four-day tour in both countries.<\/p>\n
The UK royalties’ program includes meeting President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and First Lady Intissar Amer al-Sisi as that is the first official visit to Egypt by Prince Charles in 15 years.<\/p>\n
