CAIRO – 18 November 2021: The crime of forging a COVID-19 vaccination certificate is punishable up by 3-10 imprisonment, said Health Ministry Spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar on Thursday.<\/p>\n
He added in media remarks to state-owned T.V. channel 1 that the use of the forged vaccination certificate is a mother crime that is punishable by imprisonment in accordance with the Penal Code. <\/p>\n
Since November 15, 2021, Egypt has banned all unvaccinated public servants and academic students from entering the state\u2019s institutions and universities. It also decided to bar unvaccinated citizens from entering public institutions, starting on December 1, 2021.<\/p>\n
The total number of those who have received COVID-19 vaccines reached 41 million citizens so far, said Abdel Ghaffar in media remarks to Al-Haya Al-Youm program on \u201cAl Haya\u201d T.V. on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n
This number stands for those who are fully vaccinated and those who administered one dose, he said, adding that this number is expected to increase before the end of the year.<\/p>\n
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday issued directives for expanding COVID-19 vaccination campaigns for citizens and facilitating relevant procedures.<\/p>\n
Sisi also instructed to proceed with awareness raising campaigns for all citizens as regards anti-coronavirus precautionary measures, especially in crowded places like government bodies, universities, and schools.<\/p>\n
Presidential Adviser for Health Affairs Mohamed Awad Tag el Din said on Wednesday that Egypt currently has a large number of COVID-19 vaccines, noting that the Egyptian government has allocated all the necessary funds to obtain these vaccines.<\/p>\n
He stressed that all types of vaccines have been provided in Egypt.<\/p>\n
Tag el Din pointed out that Egypt has more than 1,000 vaccination centers spread throughout the country and that there is currently a \u2018very high demand\u2019 of citizens to get vaccinated.<\/p>\n
