CAIRO \u2013 29 October 2021: Egypt\u2019s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli has said that ending the state of emergency in Egypt reflects the country’s stability and its success in the war against terrorism, especially in Sinai.<\/p>\n
Egypt has not seen any terror attacks for two years, said a proud Madbouli.<\/p>\n
In an interview with “Les Echos” French newspaper Friday, Madbouli pointed out that ending the state of emergency is a good message from Egypt to the world, confirming that the exceptional measures are over and that “we are back to normal life”.<\/p>\n
In his interview with “Les Echos” newspaper of France on the latest developments in Sudan, the Egyptian prime minister said that Sudan is not just a neighboring country, adding Sudan and Egypt have deeply-rooted ties and Egypt is keen on achieving stability in Sudan to contribute to its prosperity.<\/p>\n
Shifting to the matter of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), Madbouli said negotiations in this regard started in 2011, stressing that Egypt acknowledged the right of all countries to develop their infrastructure, but without harming the rights and interests of neighboring countries.<\/p>\n
He further underlined the necessity of reaching a legally binding agreement on the filling and operation of the Ethiopian dam.<\/p>\n
Asked about the results of his visit to France, Madbouli expressed his great satisfaction with his talks with French Prime Minister Jean Castex and Minister of Economy Bruno Le Maire, describing France as Egypt’s strategic partner.<\/p>\n
He noted that both Egypt and France signed several agreements during his visit.<\/p>\n
In the coming days, a deal with the French company “Alstom SA” will be finalized to develop Cairo Metro Line 1 and supply 55 new subway trains to Egypt.<\/p>\n
