CAIRO \u2013 27 October 2021: Egyptian Minister of Environment announced that the air quality in the country is normal, saying that the daily averages of sulfur dioxide gas (the main pollutant of volcanic emissions) corresponds to 100 percent of the maximum limits of outdoor air pollutants allowed by the law.<\/p>\n
The statement is based on the daily monitoring of air quality in the country using 58 automatic and instantaneous stations.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is clear that the general situation of air quality indicators with regard to sulfur dioxide gas is normal for this time of the year and has not been affected by any external factors,\u201d the ministry said.<\/p>\n
Aiming to protect the Egyptian environment, the Ministry of Environment publishes early warning reports to citizens and informs them of the expected pollution levels as a result of the impact of weather factors in different regions.<\/p>\n
