CAIRO – 26 October 2021: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has decided to end a state of emergency observed in Egypt for many years; a move that was much praised by the mufti, Shawqi Allam, who called it \u201ca real achievement\u201d.<\/p>\n
This is yet another achievement by the Egyptian state, Allam said in a statement Tuesday, noting that Sisi\u2019s decision reflects the degree of stability in the country that resulted from a wise strategy in managing the different files, atop of which the fight against terrorism.<\/p>\n
He added that ending the state of emergency sure has many positive effects on Egypt, whether at home or abroad.<\/p>\n
Allam thanked those who contributed to this important achievement, especially the Armed Forces and police.<\/p>\n
Egypt\u2019s Judges Club, headed by Chancellor Mohamed Abdel Mohsen, also has commended President El Sisi\u2019s decree. In a statement, the Judges Club congratulated the Egyptian people on this bold decision, which it said confirms the state of stability, security and safety in the country thanks to sacrifices made by the nation\u2019s martyrs and the efforts of loyal state institutions.<\/p>\n
It also indicates that Egypt is on its path towards further progress and prosperity at a steady pace, the club added.<\/p>\n
The Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies (ECSS) has praised the decision. Egypt has, thus, beaten all risks and challenges, said ECSS director general Khaled Okasha in statements to MENA Tuesday, noting that the decision meant Egypt is now in a position where it could take firm steps forward.<\/p>\n
The decision was made after long years and thorough study of the general situation at the security and economic levels, Okasha said, adding that threats to Egypt were also considered.<\/p>\n
This decision heralds a new phase toward consolidating pillars of a new republic, whose launch was declared in the middle of this year, the ECSS official noted.<\/p>\n
Sisi declared on Oct. 25, the cancellation of the extension of the state of emergency throughout the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is my pleasure to share together this moment, for which we have always striven with hard work. Egypt has become – thanks to its great people and loyal men – an oasis of security and stability in the region; hence, I decided, for the first time in years, to cancel the extension of the state of emergency throughout the country,\u201d says President Sisi on his official Facebook page.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis decision was has been made by Egyptians themselves over the past few years throughout their honest and sincere participation in the efforts of development and construction,\u201d he added<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I declare this decision, I do remember, with honor and respect, our heroic martyrs, without whom we would not have achieved safety and stability,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cTogether, we steadily move forward to a new republic, with God\u2019s help and support. Long live Egypt, Long Live Egypt,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
