The Health Ministry said that 112 new coronavirus cases were detected in Egypt over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 285,577.<\/p>\n
In a statement late Tuesday, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said five patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 16,630.<\/p>\n
As many as 199 patients were discharged from hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recoveries to 234,449, he added.<\/p>\n
President Advisor for Health and Prevention affairs Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din said Monday that no mutations for coronavirus have been detected in Egypt so far.<\/p>\n
He added that there is a slight increase in Coronavirus infections, whereas the patients showing mild to medium symptoms.<\/p>\n
In his statements to DMC channel, Taj El-Din noted that the health ministry is closely following with all of the updates regarding COVID mutations. \u201cUntil this moment, things are still stable, but caution must be taken, and precautionary measures must be followed to limit the increase of COVID-19 daily infections.\u201d The health advisor said.<\/p>\n
“If the numbers continue to increase, we might say that Egypt has entered the fourth wave of Coronavirus, but we are only witnessing a small increase in the infections, and trying to obtain and provide the largest possible number of vaccines, which we have already a diversity of them available.” Taj El-Din said.<\/p>\n
Egypt\u2019s Ministry of Health announced, Monday, that five different vaccines are now available in nearly 539 vaccine centers across the country against coronavirus.<\/p>\n
The Ministry explained that all of the five vaccines have emergency approvals from the Egyptian Medicines Authority.<\/p>\n
The Health Ministry Spokesperson Khaled Megahed noted that the available vaccines are: Sputnik V, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, Johnson& Johnson and Sinovac.<\/p>\n
He called on all citizens to register online [http:\/\/www.egcovac.mohp.gov.eg] and get vaccinated against COVID-19.<\/p>\n
