Egypt’s higher education system has seen an unprecedented breakthrough thanks to the political leadership’s support, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said Sunday.<\/p>\n
Egypt’s private non-profit universities provide an international model for fourth generation universities, the premier added, noting that the new curriculum adopted by these universities have been designed to meet local as well as international labor market requirements.<\/p>\n
Madbouli made the remarks during an inspection visit to El Alamein International University, as part of his tour of the New El Alamein City.<\/p>\n
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar, President of El Alamein International University Essam Al-Kurdi accompanied the premier during the visit.<\/p>\n
Commending the university’s capabilities and the efforts made to enter into partnerships with top international peers, Madbouli highlighted the vital role of universities for community advancement.<\/p>\n
He noted that private non-profit universities provide an opportunity for excellent education to produce graduates who have the skills and competencies that give them a competitive advantage in labor markets at the national, regional and global levels.<\/p>\n
These universities are also distinguished by their advanced infrastructure that supports modern scientific research to address the challenges facing development plans in Egypt, Madbouli added.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Abdel Ghaffar briefed the premier on his ministry’s plan to increase the number of new private non-profit universities nationwide.<\/p>\n
He noted that the ministry plans to accomplish as many as 12 universities in the near future. <\/p>\n
