As such, the total of each was brought up to 234,015; 175,117; and, 13,714, respectively.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Health and Population announced Saturday that 900,000 people have got vaccinated, and that more than 45 percent of hospitals’ capacity is ready to receive COVID-19 patients.<\/p>\n
While the country has started its vaccination campaign in January, the number of cases keeps on rising, especially as Egypt is currently suffering from a third coronavirus wave.<\/p>\n
This surge is far more than the official numbers, health officials said frequently, urging citizens to stick to the preventive measures against coronavirus in a bid to curb the pandemic spread.<\/p>\n
This pushed state officials, headed by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, to issue directives to expand the vaccination campaign so that priority groups then other groups get the vaccine.<\/p>\n
Head of the central administration for preventive affairs at Egypt’s Ministry of Health Mohamed Abdel Fattah in remarks to media earlier this month urged citizens to strictly adhere to the preventive measures against coronavirus, warning that the next 10 days are the most serious.<\/p>\n
Abdel Fattah said the severity of this coronavirus wave will ease during the upcoming days.<\/p>\n
