{"id":226235,"date":"2021-04-27T23:51:02","date_gmt":"2021-04-27T21:51:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/almowatna.news\/?p=226235"},"modified":"2021-04-27T23:51:02","modified_gmt":"2021-04-27T21:51:02","slug":"egypt-finishes-lining-1-6k-kilometers-canals-within-water-management-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/almowatna.news\/?p=226235","title":{"rendered":"Egypt finishes lining 1.6K kilometers of canals within water management plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources finished the lining of 1,603 kilometers of canals across 20 governorates within the first phase, which will end on June 20, 2022 after lining a total of 7,790 kilometers at LE18 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The canal lining project is part of the National Project for Developing the Egyptian Countryside aimed at raising the quality of life of residents of rural areas. The lining of canals would enhance water management and distribution, ensure the delivery of water to the ends of canals, and inhibit pollution.<\/p>\n<p>On another level, the ministry is encouraging farmers to substitute modern irrigation systems for flood irrigation in order to rationalize water use.
