The virtual MOU signing ceremony for the establishment of \u2018KAIST Egypt\u2019 between Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology KAIST and National Training Academy NTA was held Tuesday. <\/p>\n
\u2018KAIST Egypt\u2019 is a project to establish an educational institution modeled after KAIST, one of the top science and Technology University in Republic of Korea (ROK) to foster elite human resources in science and technology. This MOU is an initial work for installing \u2018KAIST Egypt’, which includes conducting a preliminary feasibility study.<\/p>\n
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Egypt, H.E. Hong Jin-wook met with Rascha Ragheb, the Executive Director of the NTA and celebrated signing of the MOU the day before the ceremony.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Hong mentioned that NTA\u2019s role aiming at forging an outstanding class of managers and professionals who will lead development of Egypt is one of the most important goal of president Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.<\/p>\n
In response, Executive Director Ragheb said she expects to have a blueprint for \u2019KAIST Egypt\u2019 through signing the MOU, and that she hopes to successfully model the case of KAIST, a source of ROK’s excellent technology.<\/p>\n
After that, Ambassador Hong and Executive Director Ragheb exchanged views on the progress of cooperative projects conducted between other ROK training institutions and NTA.<\/p>\n
Two Korean institutions, NHI (National Human Resources Development Institute) and KIRD (Korea Institute of Human Resources Development in Science and Technology) signed MOU with NTA in human resources development in the public sector on September 2020, and science and technology human resources development on March 2021 respectively.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Hong said ROK has been actively cooperating with Egypt in developing human resources and especially through KOICA, the Fellowship program has provided training to 1,500 Egyptian officials and experts for more than 30 years.<\/p>\n
Executive Director Ragheb agreed with Ambassador Hong and said this will be great opportunity for Egypt\u2019s public sector to grow and eventually contribute to Egypt\u2019s sustainable and equitable economic growth.<\/p>\n
