Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry told his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias, Egypt is keen to remove obstacles that may have been facing Greek companies and to facilitate the flow of Greek investments in the country.<\/p>\n
As they met in Cairo on Monday, the ministers stressed on the strong bilateral relations and friendship tying their two countries in all fields, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.<\/p>\n
Shoukry voiced Egypt\u2019s keenness to support the cooperation with Greece in the tourism field and to quickly launch bilateral cooperation in the energy field.<\/p>\n
During their meeting, they discussed regional issues of mutual concern and welcomed the level of consultation between the two countries to coordinate on the developments in the region, the statement read.<\/p>\n
\u201cI met with Egypt\u2019s FM Sameh Shoukry in Cairo to discuss multifaceted warm Greek-Egyptian relations and to review recent regional developments following the Philia Forum and its positive impact on advancing regional stability and cooperation,\u201d Dendias wrote on Twitter following the meeting.<\/p>\n
The Philia Forum was held last month between the foreign ministers of Greece, Cyprus, Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE in Athens.<\/p>\n
During the forum, the ministers \u201cexamined the possibilities for further cooperation in all fields,\u201d a joint statement by the tripartite of Egypt, Greece and Cyprus read.<\/p>\n
The ministers affirmed that priority should be given to the regional cooperation and comprehensive developments, the statement added.<\/p>\n
Dendias also met on Monday with his Cypriot counterpart, Nikos Christodoulides.<\/p>\n
