President Abdel Fattah El Sisi expressed Egypt\u2019s aspiration to boost constructive cooperation with Greece, especially in economy and energy, as he made a phone call on Wednesday with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.<\/p>\n
Sisi also voiced the country\u2019s keenness to cooperate with Greece at the security and military levels.<\/p>\n
The president hailed Egypt\u2019s appreciation of the progress in cooperation relations with Greece, especially in light of the common stances and the consistency of interests between the two countries at the regional level.<\/p>\n
Mitsotakis voiced his keenness to exchange opinions with President Sisi on regional issues of mutual concern.<\/p>\n
The Greek premier affirmed the importance of coordination, especially in the energy fields and Middle East issues to achieve the interests of both countries at the bilateral level, as well as the trilateral level with Cyprus.<\/p>\n
The foreign ministers of Egypt, Greece, and Egypt met in February in Athens. They stressed in their meeting that cooperation between the three countries is meant to push peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.<\/p>\n
The three countries signed a tripartite political and economic cooperation mechanism agreement in Nicosia in October 2020. The three countries chose the Cypriot capital to serve as the headquarters of the secretariat of the tripartite mechanism effort starting the spring of 2021.<\/p>\n
