The Italian company Turboden is heading to invest in Egypt and cooperate with Siemens Energy and the Egyptian Gasco Company, in a project to develop a high-efficiency gas compressor station in Dahshur, which will be the first of its kind in the world, as it contributes to removing carbon.<\/p>\n
The Italian newspaper “Journal de Prisca” indicated that Siemens Energy, a subsidiary of the Mitsubishi Group of Heavy Industries, has submitted a request for $ 25 million to become the largest supplier of the Orc high-temperature system, which is combined with 20-megawatt electric motor compressors (EMD), and is able to increase the efficiency of the Gasco Compression Plant in Dahshur (Gcs) is great.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO), one of the companies in the petroleum sector, signed a contract to supply Dahshur 5 and 6 compressor units with a Spanish company.<\/p>\n
This comes within the framework of the state\u2019s plan to develop Upper Egypt and the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources\u2019s keenness to meet the natural gas needs of southern Upper Egypt governorates to meet the increasing loads in homes, electricity and industrial activities, as well as the needs of the Assiut National Refining Company (ANOPEC).<\/p>\n
The project uses the latest global technologies to recover the wasted energy coming from the gas turbines and convert it into electricity through organic rankine cycle units.<\/p>\n
The project is funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as one of the energy efficiency projects implemented by the ministry through EGAS and GASCO.<\/p>\n
The national network of natural gas contributes to the increase in the use of natural gas in all sectors, and the network is controlled using the latest global technology with the SCADA system, which represents the nerve device to monitor the national network, for gas through the Fifth National Center for Network Control in the Community.<\/p>\n
