President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that despite the severe economic repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, the Egyptian economy has succeeded in dealing with it in a flexible manner, thus preserving its ability to continue achieving positive growth rates, in light of the structural economy program that began years ago.<\/p>\n
According to Sisi, the economic reform program achieved tangible achievements in a short period, which reflected positively on development efforts, and helped the state support the national economy, implement policies to stimulate continued work, and provide a greater margin of support for the most affected groups.<\/p>\n
He said that 2020 was full of difficult challenges and negative repercussions resulting from COVID-19 crisis which has changed the world.<\/p>\n
\u201cDespite these difficulties, the crisis has shown an important opportunity to promote digital transformation and develop sustainable development policies that include social, economic and environmental dimensions, thus contributing to achieving a comprehensive recovery as soon as possible,\u201d Sisi pointed.<\/p>\n
This came during Sisi\u2019s televised speech to the World Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on the occasion of its 60th anniversary.<\/p>\n
Sisi expressed Egypt’s deep appreciation for OECD’s prominent role on the bilateral level, along with its contributions to formulating economic policies at the international level.<\/p>\n
