Egypt\u2019s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Monday affirmed that the national initiative to replace old cars and convert vehicles to run on natural gas will have direct benefits to citizens.<\/p>\n
The old private cars would be replaced by new ones of the latest models that run on gas at a low cost with large financial facilities, low-interest rates and long-term loans, the Presidency said.<\/p>\n
Sisi met on Monday morning with the representatives of the largest international companies participating in the country\u2019s first exhibition to review technologies to convert cars to work with natural gas. The exhibition is dubbed \u201cGo Green\u201d.<\/p>\n
The meeting included Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli as well as the ministers of trade and industry, finance, local development, petroleum and transport. Presidential Advisor for Financial Affair Major General Mohamed Amin also attended the meeting.<\/p>\n
Officials during the meeting discussed the cooperation between automobile production companies in Egypt and governmental bodies, within the framework of the national initiative.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese steps complement the state\u2019s strategy to elevate the living standards of citizens and provide them with the best services,\u201d the Presidency said.<\/p>\n
The initiative which aims at converting cars to run on compressed natural gas (CNG) will be launched in this exhibition.<\/p>\n
The exhibition is hosted under the auspices of Sisi and in cooperation with governmental bodies as well international and local companies specialized in this field, Radi added.<\/p>\n
In a tweet, Sisi said: \u201ctoday, I inspected the first exhibition of the technology to convert cars to work with clean energy.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI was pleased with what I saw about the achievement [made by] the Egyptian hands in building an integrated system for converting cars to run with natural gas,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
