The Egyptian Health Ministry said Saturday that 611 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed cases to 124,891.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 28 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 7,069.<\/p>\n
As many as 324 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 106,481 so far, the spokesman said.<\/p>\n
Egyptian ministries and governmental authorities will start on Sunday applying new measures to curb the spread of coronavirus, including reducing the attendance of employees and activating the rotation system.<\/p>\n
Work circumstances will be determined based on the number of employees and the nature of work, so that they ensure service is properly provided to citizens and work is continued.<\/p>\n
This comes as the Egyptian government is seeking to curb the spread of coronavirus, as the number of cases has surpassed 500 over the past days.<\/p>\n
The plan included banning large gatherings at closed wedding halls and stressing the closure of private lessons for school students.<\/p>\n
The plan also included securing the distribution of the coronavirus vaccine.<\/p>\n
The Egyptian Health Ministry on 10 December night said the first batch of the Chinese vaccine arrived at the Cairo International Airport, coming from the UAE.<\/p>\n
Health Minister Hala Zayed said Egypt will receive the vaccine batches in succession and will provide the doses for citizens free of charge, based on the directives of the president.<\/p>\n
Sinopharm\u2019s vaccine, according to UAE and Egypt, has an 86 percent efficacy against coronavirus. It has been involved in clinical trials in Egypt over the past few months. Minister Zayed was one of the volunteers.<\/p>\n
