Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Jordan and Palestine will hold a tripartite meeting on Saturday in Cairo to discuss the Palestinian-Israel cause and the inter-Palestine reconciliation issue, according to a statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Friday.<\/p>\n
The three officials – Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Jordanian and Palestinian counterparts Ayman al-Safadi and Riyad el-Malky, respectively, – will hold the meeting in the headquarters of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry downtown Cairo, the statement added.<\/p>\n
A joint press conference will convene after the tripartite meeting, the statement continued.<\/p>\n
Last week, newly inaugurated Egyptian Ambassador to Palestine Tareq Tayel affirmed Egypt\u2019s firm stance in supporting all Palestinian efforts to get rid of the occupation and establish an independent state, during a meeting with Vice President of Fatah Movement Mahmoud al-Aloul.<\/p>\n
The meeting tackled the latest political developments in the region, and the challenges facing the Palestinian reconciliation process at the current time.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Tayel stressed Egypt\u2019s stance in support of the Palestinian people, Palestinian national rights and their right to self-determination, and to end the occupation in accordance with international legitimacy.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Tayel recently assumed his position as the new ambassador of Egypt to Palestine.<\/p>\n
Palestinian Foreign Minister welcomed Ambassador Tayel, and hailed the deep brotherly relations between both countries, adding that Cairo and its leadership have always been the main supporter for the Palestinian issue.<\/p>\n
El-Malky also valued the efforts exerted by Cairo to overcome the obstacles hindering unity among Palestinian parties, and delaying the end of the division, and the achieving of reconciliation.<\/p>\n
He further stressed the Palestinian leadership\u2019s keenness to maintain permanent coordination with the Egyptian leadership in all Palestinian diplomatic moves in regional and international forums.<\/p>\n
For his part, Palestine’s Chief Justice and the President’s Adviser on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habash stressed the strength of Egyptian-Palestinian relations, hailing the stances of Egyptian leadership, under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, towards supporting the Palestinian cause.<\/p>\n
