An Egyptian-Canadian agreement on a project to address the gap in reproductive health rights has been approved by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.<\/p>\n
The agreement was signed in Cairo in March 2020 to empower women and involve men in family planning by raising awareness. The project also aims to facilitate access to such services and counter the social and behavioral obstacles preventing girls and women from accessing good health services.<\/p>\n
The activities of the project will include means to purchase contraceptives, developing distribution in targeted areas, and adding family planning in the educational system. <\/p>\n
The project will also be implemented by the United Nations Population Fund. The Egyptian population is approaching 100 million people, and the population boom is a challenge that Egyptian governments have been alarmed about for decades. <\/p>\n
