This came in a speech delivered by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Sunday during the inauguration of a project in Qalyubia, Delta, in the presence of several ministers and important figures.<\/p>\n
Sisi stressed the importance of the role of media and education in building the awareness of citizens. He told the media, “You are the true tool of enlightenment the people.”<\/p>\n
“I say to basic and university education institutions, you are the true basis upon which the youths are built. You protect our sons and daughters, not for me or for the government, but for Egypt,”Sisi confirmed.<\/p>\n
The president warned against calls for sabotage, explaining that the perpetrators of such acts aim to destroy the nation with these false claims.<\/p>\n
“Through my position and my work as a responsible person, I have witnessed all the devastation that has befallen countries, as a result of the subversive calls that lead people out of their stable and secure life and into refugee camps,” Sisi continued.<\/p>\n
The president reiterated, “I repeat this saying and everyone repeats it in the House of Representatives, the mosque and the church …. We must talk about preserving the state and people.”<\/p>\n
Sisi thanked the Egyptian people for not responding to the recent “destructive calls” for demonstrations, saying the state will always choose to reform rather than leave people in difficult conditions.<\/p>\n
The Muslim Brotherhood channels broadcast from abroad ferociously tried over the past week to mobilize people in Egypt to demonstrate, claiming that the state’s endeavors are against the people and are at their expense.<\/p>\n
Sisi emphasized that the “state is the people,” and no one can drive a wedge between them. “The price of development is paid by all the Egyptian people, including the state,” he said.<\/p>\n
“The bet, however, has always been on the Egyptian people and their understanding and appreciation of the efforts being exerted to ultimately reach better conditions,” Sisi stated. Admittedly, the president also said people “put up with” the difficulties to reach that end. “That bet is always winning,”Sisi concluded.<\/p>\n
