Sudanese Minister of Labor and Social Development Lina al-Sheikh thanked Egypt for the prompt response in sending aid to support those affected by the floods.<\/p>\n
In a statement to MENA agency in Khartoum, al-Sheikh said, \u201cour brothers in Egypt are always quick to respond. They sent all basic needs that we really need at this stage, and they were shipped as fast as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has directed to open an air bridge to provide relief assistance to those affected by floods that hit Sudan.<\/p>\n
Sudanese Minister al-Sheikh explained that the Supreme Committee, in coordination with civil society organizations and UN organizations concerned with humanitarian affairs, is working to determine the requirements that Sudan needs to deal with the current situation, and to bridge the gap between the needs and resources through foreign support.<\/p>\n
She added that the state of emergency declared by the Sudanese Security and Defense Council for a period of three months to deal with the effects of the floods, and to control its damage.<\/p>\n
