The Petroleum Ministry said that converting petrol-fuelled cars to run on natural gas reduces fuel costs by nearly 50%.<\/p>\n
According to a report issued by the Petroleum Ministry, the time needed to convert existing gasoline-powered vehicles to natural gas vehicles (NGVs) is from two to four hours depending on the car model.<\/p>\n
The report, titled “Compressed natural gas (CNG)..the best for all types of vehicles,” said that the new vehicle conversion systems aims at turning cars with different fuel tank capacity to run on CNG helps improving the car engine efficiency and increasing the car horsepower capacity.<\/p>\n
The report includes a guideline for citizens wishing to convert their cars to work with natural gas within the framework of implementing the State’s ambitious plan to expand the use of natural gas as a fuel for cars.<\/p>\n
The plan is supported by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the government to maximize the natural gas added value.<\/p>\n
