Egypt’s non-petroleum imports went down 5 percent in June 2020 to stand at $5.3 billion against $5.56 billion in the corresponding period last year, the General Organization For Export & Import Control said.<\/p>\n
In a monthly report on Sunday, the GOEIC said imports of nine sectors declined in June, atop of which were the imports of the textile sector that were down by 42 percent to reach 160 million dollars against 277 million dollars in June 2019.<\/p>\n
Craft industries’ imports also decreased by 27 percent, registering $26 million compared to $ 35 million during the same period in 2019.<\/p>\n
Leather imports went down by 23 percent to hit 10 million dollars against 13 million dollars in June 2019. <\/p>\n
