The Ministry of Civil Aviation disclosed on Sunday the measures to be taken while gradually resuming international flights at Egyptian airports.<\/p>\n
The Cabinet’s COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee convened on June 11, and decided to resume international tourism on July 1.<\/p>\n
Minister Mohamed Manar said in a press conference Sunday that hygiene checks will take place in all Egyptian airports in the coming period, all planes will be sterilized, only dry meals and canned beverages will be served, and print publications will be banned on aircrafts.<\/p>\n
The minister added that passengers arriving from states where COVID-19 is highly spread according to the WHO’s figures will have to submit results of the PCR test.<\/p>\n
As Egypt prepares for receiving tourists at Red Sea, South Sinai and Matrouh resorts in July, it has provided highly competitive prices and offers for airliners and travel agencies.<\/p>\n
The government\u2019s incentives include:<\/p>\n
1- Cancelling tourist visas for visitors of the mentioned governorates until 31 October 2020
\n2- A 10-cent discount on every gallon of aviation fuel
\n3- Airliners will enjoy 50% discount on landing and boarding fees
\n4- A 20% discount on ground services offered to direct flights to the 3 governorates until 31 October 2020.
\n5- A 20% discount on tickets of all museums and historical places under the supervision of the Supreme Council of Antiquities
\n6- More discounts on museums and historical places will be applied on visitors coming on EgyptAir and Air Cairo flights for 15 days.<\/p>\n
Egypt closed off to tourism in March due to the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, but decided to gradually reopen the economy as of July.<\/p>\n
