Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue (FDHRD) called Sunday on the United Nations and its devices to intervene decisively and urgently to prevent the flow of weapons, equipment, and mercenaries that increase the conflict to the Libyan territories.<\/p>\n
In a statement, FDHRD also called for addressing the blatant Turkish interference in the Libyan affairs. The Turkish interference has become one of the main reasons for the continued armed conflict and the continued violation of the sovereignty of Libya, according to the statement.<\/p>\n
The FDHRD expressed its shock at the unjustified silence of the United Nations, while confirming documented reports issued by its bodies on the hostilities launched by mercenaries supported by Turkey.<\/p>\n
The statement revealed that there are about 400,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs), and 654,000 thousand immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers in 2019.<\/p>\n
Reports issued by the United Nations in May condemned Al-Wefaq government\u2019s insistence not to end the conflict or stop the military operations.<\/p>\n
The FDHRD also called on the Security Council to intervene and activate the draft ceasefire agreement that was launched on February 23, 2020 through the talks of the Joint Military Commission 5 + 5 in Geneva.<\/p>\n
In the same context, Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue welcomed the Cairo Declaration launched by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi in the presence of commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Field Marshal Khalifa Hafter, and Speaker of the Libyan Parliament Aqila Saleh.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the FDHRD demanded the United Nations consider the declaration as a road map to restore security and stability in Libya and be able to reach a political settlement to solve the Libyan crisis.<\/p>\n
