The Ministry of Emigration said members of the Greek community in Egypt have donated a sum of EGP 200,000 to Tahya Misr Fund to back the State\u2019s efforts to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).<\/p>\n
The donation was made in the name of the Greek Orthodox Church of Alexandria and entire Africa, the ministry said in a statement Saturday.<\/p>\n
The move comes in continuity of cooperation initiatives among peoples of the Roots Revival initiative, it added.<\/p>\n
Minister of Emigration Nabila Makram extended thanks and appreciation to the Greek community in Egypt for their donation in response to her call to support the country in its efforts to confront the coronavirus.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Greek Orthodox Church of Alexandria has commended the efforts exerted by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Egyptian government in combating the spread of the global pandemic.<\/p>\n
