Egypt condemns the \u201cterrorist\u201d attacks that killed dozens of soldiers in both Nigeria and Chad, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.<\/p>\n
Chad\u2019s village of Boma, Lac province, was hit earlier this week by the country\u2019s deadliest attack ever by the terrorist group of Boko Haram, killing 92 soldiers, according to President Idriss Deby, over the course of several hours.<\/p>\n
In Chad\u2019s neighbor, Nigeria, the same group has been responsible for killing at least 50 soldiers in an ambush in Yobe state, north of Nigeria.<\/p>\n
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry\u2019s statement expressed Egypt’s sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the two attacks, and also wished speedy recovery for the injured citizens.<\/p>\n
The ministry affirmed Egypt’s support for the governments and peoples of the two African states, and called for the consolidation of joint efforts to face terrorism.<\/p>\n
The Boko Haram group has been responsible, since it emerged in Nigeria in 2009, for killing over 30,000 people and forcing around 2 million people to leave their homes, according to Reuters.<\/p>\n
