Egypt\u2019s Meteorological Authority has warned of a wave of unstable weather that is set to hit the country as of Thursday, and will last until Saturday, with heavy rains that mount to floods.<\/p>\n
Director of the Weather Forecasting Department at the authority Mahmoud Shaheen called on citizens to wear heavy clothes and to avoid engaging in maritime activities and speeding on the roads.<\/p>\n
The authority also said that the country will witness thunder and heavy rains on the northern coasts and Lower Egypt, extending to the Suez Canal and the Suez Gulf, and amounting to floods in Sinai, Red Sea mountain ranges and southern parts of the country.<\/p>\n
A sandstorm is also expected to hit the southern parts, in the Red Sea governorate and South Sinai. This will be accompanied with a decline in temperature on Friday.<\/p>\n
Tuesday witnessed a decrease in temperatures after Cairo has recorded high temperature degrees over the past days, reaching highs of 30 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n
The governorates of North Sinai and Wadi al-Gadid announced a state of emergency over the sandstorm.<\/p>\n
