The Court of Cassation rejected the appeal of former Chairman of the Customs Authority Gamal Abdel Azim as he had been convicted of bribery and sentenced to 10 years in prison and a fine worth LE 768,000.<\/p>\n
The lawsuit, dating back to 2018, included seven other defendants, who were cleared by Port Said Criminal Court. The Administrative Control Authority unveiled that Abdel Azim got garments, shoes, two glasses, home appliances, and food worth LE 30,335 in order to grant the fourth defendant a leasing contract of four hangers owned by the General Silos and Storage Company.<\/p>\n
Abdel Azim also received LE 120, 012 from the sixth defendant for the fourth to get a permit to transport ceramics to the hangers.<\/p>\n
