Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled el Anani discussed on Friday with officials of TUI Group ways of boosting tourism and increasing the tourist influx to Egypt in the coming period.<\/p>\n
Anani reviewed promoting new programs, which include cultural and beach tourism, at international events and social media platforms to lure more tourists to the Egyptian destinations.<\/p>\n
He also pointed to an agreement, inked with the Civil Aviation Ministry, to operate flights between Luxor and Sharm El Sheikh, adding that another line will link Luxor and Hurghada soon.<\/p>\n
Another agreement was reached with the Civil Aviation Ministry to operate a direct flight from UK Gatwick Airport to Sharm El Sheikh Airport once a week in light of the UK government’s decision to lift travel ban to the Red Sea resort city, the minister told the delegation<\/p>\n
He highlighted the expected opening of the Hurghada Museum, considered the first of it kind to be established in partnership with the private sector, mentioning the digitization of the ministry’s revenues and tickets of museums and archaeological sites.<\/p>\n
In turn, TUI officials expressed their interest in the new Egyptian programs to attract different tourist categories.<\/p>\n
They hailed Egypt’s infrastructure at all levels, pointing out that they are looking forward to investing in Egyptian hotels, especially green ones.<\/p>\n
