Egyptian military spokesperson, Tamer al Refaei, said Sunday that the armed forces foiled a terrorist attack against a security checkpoint in North Sinai.<\/p>\n
Refaei said it was thanks to the security vigilance the Egyptian armed forces managed to halt an attack and exchanged fire with the terrorist elements to kill ten of them, destroying a four-wheel-drive vehicle, and two Egyptian officers and five soldiers were martyred during the fire exchange.<\/p>\n
Refaei added that the security forces combed the area and are currently chasing the terrorist elements to exterminate them. The Egyptian military forces assert that they will keep their efforts to eradicate terrorism in Egypt.<\/p>\n
