Lieutenant General Mohamed Farid, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, inspected a number of security ambushes and checkpoints on the main roads and axes in North Sinai on Thursday.<\/p>\n
He also followed up on the military operations and security procedures from the permanent operations center in Arish city, which performs its duties in implementing tight security plans to eliminate terrorist elements and tighten control security in the Sinai Peninsula.<\/p>\n
General Mohamed Farid also met with armed forces in North Sinai, and conveyed greetings and appreciation from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to their heroic role that contributed to the elimination of terrorism and restoring normal life in the cities of North and Central Sinai.<\/p>\n
He stressed that the armed forces are persistently proceeding to uproot terrorism and extremism once and for all, and continuing to create the appropriate environment for investment and comprehensive development in Sinai.<\/p>\n
He also listened to the opinions of a number of fighters and their inquiries in various fields, and asked them to maintain the highest degree of vigilance and preparedness to counter all possible threats and hostile positions.<\/p>\n
General Farid further praised the high moral spirit and determination of the forces, in addition to the fighters\u2019 insistence for fulfilling the sacred tasks assigned to them to protect the Egyptian people\u2019s interests.<\/p>\n
He honored the distinguished members of armed forces in appreciation to their performance of their duties of eliminating terrorism, with full dedication and sincerity.<\/p>\n
