Attorney General Hamada al-Sawy on Saturday ordered referring a train conductor to the criminal court over compelling two passengers to jump off a train moving at high speed in Gharbia’s Tanta, for not purchasing tickets.<\/p>\n
The defendant faces charges of causing an injury that led to a death of one of the two passengers, as he allegedly opened the train door and gave the option for the victims either to pay for the tickets or jump off the train, while passing through Al-Dafra Station.<\/p>\n
The conductor denied the allegations, and said he unlocked the door to check why the train slowed down so they jumped off in fear of getting arrested.<\/p>\n
Ahmed Samir, the other passenger who survived the incident, told the Public Prosecution that the conductor asked them to either pay, get arrested, or jump off.<\/p>\n
Samir said that his friend, Mohamed Eid, jumped off and died immediately.<\/p>\n
