Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Bahrain counterpart Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa discussed Saturday the latest developments of the Turkish offensive into Syria.<\/p>\n
The two ministers tackled the consequences of such a serious move on the Syrian unity and the path of the country’s political process, in line with UN Security Council resolution no. 2254.<\/p>\n
The meeting was held before the emergency Arab League meeting, at the ministerial level to address the Turkish incursion into northern Syria.<\/p>\n
According to a statement issued by Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez, the meeting took up ways of maintaining Syria’s sovereignty, unity of its people and lands.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Shoukry held at Tahrir palace a consultative meeting grouping the foreign ministers of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Jordan to discuss the Turkish offensive into Syria.<\/p>\n
Separately, the foreign minister conferred with a delegation of the Syrian Democratic Council.<\/p>\n
