President Sisi further stressed the support for bilateral cooperation in a consistent framework of mutual respect and common interest.<\/p>\n
He also expressed his appreciation to Sudan\u2019s success in overcoming the current important stage of its history, and beginning the real work towards achieving Sudanese people\u2019s aspirations in development.<\/p>\n

\u201cEgypt is careful that Sudan returns to its normal role on regional, Arab and African levels,\u201d read the statement as quoting President Sisi who ensured continuous cooperation and coordination with Sudan in common interest issues, directing a speed implementation of joint development projects, including the electricity grid connection and a railway line of 600 km in length linking Egypt to Sudan to increase bilateral trade.<\/p>\n
For his part, Hamdok underscored close relations between both countries\u2019 peoples and governments, as he praised \u201cmutual efforts to upgrade joint cooperation pushed by sincere Egyptian support, with the aim to maintain stability in Sudan amid the historic transition that the North African state is currently witnessing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sudanese Prime Minister presented the latest developments of the political situation in Sudan, as well as the efforts in dealing with it. He hailed Egypt\u2019s leading role in the region and the African continent, especially during its tenure as the chairman of the African Union, which recently seen a decision to life suspended membership of Sudan in the union, resulting in concerted efforts to support Sudan.<\/p>\n
\u201cBoth leaders agreed on the continuation of mutual coordination and intensive consultation to promoting joint cooperation for the benefit of the two brotherly countries and peoples through the utilization of the opportunities and mechanisms available to promote integration between them at various levels\u201d added the statement.<\/p>\n
Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok arrived in Cairo on Wednesday on his first visit to an Arab country since assuming post. He is to hold talks with Egyptian officials on ways of boosting bilateral relations and the latest developments in Sudan in light of challenges besetting the transitional government.<\/p>\n
The visit comes ten days after Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry\u2019s visit to Sudan, and meeting with his Sudanese counterpart Asmaa Mohamed Abdalla and Hamadok, during which both sides asserted the special and long-lasting relations between Sudan and Egypt.<\/p>\n
