President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi praised the Egyptian-Kuwaiti relations during a Monday meeting with Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim.<\/p>\n
A presidential statement issued by spokesperson Bassam Radi read that the relations between both countries were described as \u201cspecial\u201d on all levels. It was added that both countries are working on enhancing and strengthening their relations on both the official and public levels.<\/p>\n
The meeting, which took place on Sept. 16 in Cairo, was attended by Egypt\u2019s Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal, Head of the General Intelligence Abbas Kamel and the Kuwaiti ambassador to Egypt.<\/p>\n
Sisi sent his regards to Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, and thanked him and the Kuwaiti people for their warm welcome during his last visit. For his part, Ghanim praised Egypt\u2019s key role in the MENA Region.<\/p>\n
The meeting tackled the latest developments regarding the Middle East crises, along with other situations related with the Gulf and Egypt\u2019s security.<\/p>\n
On September 1, Sisi arrived in Kuwait and met with Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber.
\nThe visit is considered President Sisi’s third official visit to Kuwait since he assumed office in 2014. The first visit was in January 2015 to express gratitude for Kuwait\u2019s good stances following the June 30 revolution.<\/p>\n
During the visit, Sheikh Sabah granted the Egyptian leader with Mubarak Al-Kabeer Necklace, one of the most honorable merits in Kuwait, in recognition of his role in consolidating the distinguished relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n
The two sides discussed ways to enhance the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and elevate them to broader horizons.<\/p>\n
