Kuwait’s Attorney General Dherar Al-Asousi hailed the memorandum of understanding for judicial cooperation signed on Sunday with the Egyptian side, saying it includes cases of money laundering, public funds embezzlement, and extradition of criminals. <\/p>\n
The cases for judicial cooperation between the two countries will also include terrorist and criminal issues, Al-Asousi said in an interview with Kuwaiti Al-Anbaa’. <\/p>\n
Egypt’s public prosecutor Nabil Sadek and his Kuwaiti counterpart, Al-Asousi, signed the memorandum on Sunday, coinciding with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s visit official visit to Kuwait. <\/p>\n
According to the memo, the two sides are to exchange information between the public prosecutions in the two countries through diplomatic channels, hold workshops, coordinate stances at international arenas and exchange visits, Egyptian state’s news agency MENA reported. <\/p>\n
The memo stipulates the right of every side to receive information about some issues and interrogate eyewitnesses to complete some files in some cases. <\/p>\n
“It is a memorandum of understanding and technical cooperation with the Arab Republic of Egypt at the level of the public prosecution,” Al-Asousi said earlier in an interview with Al-Rai, adding that it focuses on a number of points including “the exchange of information between both prosecutions, the judicial delegations, and judicial assistance which comes in accordance with diplomatic channels.” <\/p>\n
It also includes organization of courses and coordination in regional and international forums and positions, as well as the exchange of visits and workshops and the organization of joint legal programs, he added. <\/p>\n
