Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal K\u0131l\u0131\u00e7daro\u011flu has slammed Turkish President Receb Tayyib Erdogan and his policies, especially regarding his support to the Muslim Brotherhood and rivalry with Egypt. <\/p>\n
Speaking at the CHP\u2019s parliamentary group meeting in Ankara, K\u0131l\u0131\u00e7daro\u011flu said the Muslim Brotherhood, Erdo\u011fan\u2019s traditional ally in Libya and other regional countries, should be abandoned. <\/p>\n
The Brotherhood is a designated terrorist organization in many countries. It supports Islamist militias in Libya, Egypt, Syria and elsewhere. <\/p>\n
Erdo\u011fan\u2019s own Islamist Justice and Development Party (AKP) has strong ties to members of the Brotherhood worldwide. <\/p>\n
K\u0131l\u0131\u00e7daro\u011flu also called on Erdo\u011fan to \u201cstop sending arms to Libya\u201d, which violates the arms embargo imposed by the United Nations since 2011. <\/p>\n
For peace in the region, relationships with Egypt must be ameliorated, according to K\u0131l\u0131\u00e7dao\u011flu. <\/p>\n
\u201cTurkey\u2019s interests are above anything else. Peace with Egypt must be made. We should not be in quarrel with any nation. Why don\u2019t we have an ambassador [in Egypt]?\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
\u201cA peace and cooperation organization in the Middle East must be established,\u201d K\u0131l\u0131\u00e7daro\u011flu said. <\/p>\n
\u201cTurkey will have to bear heavy consequences if it follows an \u2018adventurous\u2019 foreign policy,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n
